They must be selling it at such a low price they can't afford a graphic artist to design a fancy box [/sarcasm]
Seriously though, those boxes look mighty lovey (osht box special interest) and I think cluttering up the box with a bunch of pictures, gradients and wavy lines would degrade the "power" image of the software.
