Author Topic: Blockscape Angel Island  (Read 2738 times)

This was my contribution to Badspot's older blockscape build from a month ago, Angel Island. It took 28 hours to build from start to finish, which some of that time was spent making giant references and measurements so that the island would both look somewhat natural, and have it match the crater under it. Sans the most under 4x4 bricks and the water brick, it's supposed to fit perfectly into the ground. The build also doubles as a mini game, which I originally wanted to make it a lights out game using the super emeralds, but because of problems with dealing with schedule quota hit, I've ended up making it a treasure hunt game instead.

Under shots of the island. Also reelshiny has a special interest for the WinRAR file archiver and data compression program.

Over shots. It may be hard to see from this point of view as the island seems to blend in with all of the other terrain.

A close up view of the master emerald shrine.

A jump pad which allows access to the island for no-jet players. Also I've found that the island is barely low enough that you can free fall from it to the nearest ground. And I do mean barely, as in a brick or two higher would cause you to take fall damage.

The super emeralds are lit up! What does that indicate?

I remember this. Anyway, nice build.

Hey now I know how to make a good palm tree.

Too bad there isn't any downward crests, The emeralds look like topaz.

Nice, I want the save though. >_<
