Can't host LAN games?

My brother is on his laptop and im on my PC.  I can join his but he can't join mine?

WTF man,!? Do you actually need to foward your ports for someone to join your LAN game too?

Ok, on your computer, go to start-run-and run command.  Type in "ipconfig".  Record your ip.  Then go on the other computer.  On the join game menu, select join by IP.  Type in "(your IP here) :28000"


If that doesn't work, it may be something to do with firewalls, or bad lan.

Also, if you have windows XP/Vista, open the control center for Windows defense, or some stuff, then press the firewall thing, and press options, then turn off. Sorry I explained it in a handicapped way, I'm watching TV At the same time.
