I thought this was about a STD epidemic.

I thought this was about a STD epidemic.

Ha ha I get it because Wii is like snake.

With Brawl? Well no wonder. The Super Smash Bros. Brawl's disk is double layered. It's harder to read then games like Twilight Princess.
Nintendo had something awhile back (maybe still going) that would let people send there Wii's to Nintendo, and they'd clean it out, and do something to make it read better. No clue if there still doing it, you'd have to check out there website.

But this has happened to alot of people.

It happend to me once when I put smash bros in.  Only once.

It's the lens that reads the disks, it gets dirty fairly easily if you aren't too careful.

So some advice, don't leave your wii on the loving floor, keep it the forget away from the basement and don't pass a broomstick into the disk drive and you'll be fine. In case your lens is dirty, you'd need to take extra precautions if you decide to clean it. It's fairly easy to do permanent damage to a disk drive if you don't know what you're doing.
OSHT. My Wii WAS on the floor, is in the basement, and I play WAY too much...Wow I'm a handicap...

That pissed me off so much. At least Microsoft has the decency to send me a box to ship mine for repairs. Nintendo told me to print out a sticker, buy a box, and ship it through some other means. I'm fixing it myself.

Thats what i have to do...I hate Nintendo sometimes...

It's the laser that reads the disk. At least that's what this indicates:

Hello all,

I am just posting this as it would have been helpful if the answer was here for me when I had the problem.

If you get this error all the time:

"An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii operations Manual for help troubleshooting."

And your game is skipping and/or out of sync....

You need to replace the laser in your Wii. You can find them online and you shouldn't pay more than $50.00 AUD for one.

I spent a long time trying to find a definite answer to this query as I wanted to be sure it was a laser error, and not a motherboard issue. My Wii is out of warranty and Nintendo wasn't much help. So I took a gamble and bought a new laser. Voila.. better than new Wii.

They got my Smash bros disk replaced because it got wrecked somehow within a month of me getting it.

At Bestbuy today their Wii had this issue with Mario Kart on the screen, tee hee.

my wii is fine. Thank you very much.

Dude its going to take a lot more then that to put Nintendo out of business

True. But my point is that if this happens to everyone, no one is going to want to buy anything that Nintendo makes again for risk of the same thing happening.
