Author Topic: SirMu bank tower (exterior is done)  (Read 2356 times)

(Before you ask, SirMu- sirrus mutual, like WaMu)

Anyway, this is deeply WIP. I'm posting it here mostly to get creative input. I thought this up while I was in the shower, and quickly threw this together to get my ideas down on... block.

Anyway, this should be loosely based around the Price Tower by Frank Lloyd Wright, but looking at pictures of it after I started construction on mine, I know that it's not going to turn out anything like that.

Picture time!

The front, again, realize that this is WIP.

The deeply un-inspired backside. In the finished version, this is going to have parking and whatnot, but as of the building itself, I'm thinking of bumping the elevator shaft out a brick or two and seeing how that turns out.

Input is welcomed on what to do in the back.

In terms of the front, I'm going to possibly do windows at that white space and then reign it back in the next floor up. This might repeat depending on how much interior I feel like doing :P The space over the step up will be a balcony type area.

Again, just so that you can't miss it...

So far it looks like crap, but I know is WIP, so try to add windows.

Ha ha, the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Yeah, I'm definitely going to add windows on the backside, and maybe some slot windows in the gaps created by the little bump-out thing.

Pretty plain so far, but I'm sure it'll be something to behold once completed.

Thanks for the support, bling :P

Sirrus Annoying Orange.

Hurr.

Updates for the lot of you.

I moved this over to Construct, I think it looks nicer.

Okay, it's in more of a finished state now, but still nowhere near finished. I bumped out the corner, and I think windows will balance the thing out nicely. The corner bump thing will reign back in like the ones in the front, and I'm also thinking I'm going to run the whole thing back in over it's baseplate. I'll see how it looks once I get there.

For now, pics.

Looks nice so far.
You'd go nice in my clan member list [/clanadvertising]

I love it how you say everything looks bad...

I would like to see you build something good.

Okay, here's my final update for today.

I also think that I'm not going to try and scuplt this into a tower. It just doesn't have the right orientation to go on from here, not to mention that one little section is friggin hard to do, this being the reason why I didn't finish the other one tonight. Oh wells. It'd be kind of weird to put an elevator in a house, but that's all I built for...

I also have no idea what to do with that area above the balcony on the 2nd floor, suggestions?

Eek! Double Smoast!

I pussied out of making it a three story build and worked some sketches today in school. Here's the result;

As you can see, I bumped off the top set-back and went back to the second floor's style. I'm planning for about four of those band-type floors in between the bump-in and the bump-out on the first and top floors, making the entire thing 6 floors when I'm done.

Back. I made this one solid color and will draw it back in just like the ones on the front.

Lookin' good.
OH NOES! DOUBLE SMOAST!

The structure is finally done.

I pushed through it today and worked loosely off of my sketches from school, and this is what came out; I like it.

And the backside, it's kind of a hard effect to see.

And Ethan, thanks for saving me from a TRIPLE SMOAST!

I'll work on doors and interiors and whatnot tomorrow.

Looking great.
Can't wait.
What's the current brick count?

Probably somewhere around 1,500? I built it BWP's server, so some other stuff got in there too.
