Author Topic: So about 10 minutes ago, I stubbed my toe...  (Read 4002 times)

Big toe, right foot. I've been sitting here for, like the title says, about 10 minutes. My left big toe hurts.

No, but my point is, if I stubbed my right toe, why the hell does my left to hurt?

How did you stub your big toe on your right foot?

And maybe the left one is hurting cause the pain from the right one is shooting over to the left one somehow?

Stumbled while walking barefoot.

Its called something, there's a medical term that slips my mind. Its psychosomatic, I can tell you that much.

no thx, already knew it, how would I know what to search for?
I think it has something to do with the prefix "syn" but I forget what it is.

I think he is talking about the same thing that when a person looking at a mirror and having an arm and/or leg gone and they are mirroring the side with an arm and/or leg. This creates a sensation of being able to "feel" a body part that does not exist due to it being formerly there. It is a trick of the mind. This will only work though if the mirror is still there. as soon as it moves away you dont fill it any more.

Physically it has to do with the right half of the brain controlling the left of the body and left brain on the right half of the body.

Here's another example.

I have no trouble what so ever reading those.

Also, I pulled a muscle right under my left shoulder blade while being outside today and now trying to do anything but sitting down or lying down is complete torture. Especially trying to get something to eat from the fridge. The pain is unbearable. :(
