I agree on this topic ninety-nine-percent, the memes and the lack of correct spelling and grammar are the worst of it. My ten year-old niece can spell better than a lot of these people, not that you are required to be perfect at it, but you should at least try to do it right-ish.
One time I was on a forum, and i miss-spelled the word "Uncertainty" with "Uncertainyy" and everyone got really loving pissed at me, because the t and the y are next to each other and I have fat fingers. We won't(I hope we don't) go that far.
Memes, the scourge of the Internet. Now at it's worst so far, and climbing still, I would not call it a phenomena as much I would call it a chain of unfortunate occurrences. I would not go as far as to calling people "sheep", though. I would, and I do, call them "Zombie slaves."
