You dumb ass, the best way to get gold is to farm it, not sell dye.

Kill gold farmers. So they do the work so you don't have to.

*Go to the swamp and break crates collecting the dye and money you find. Bank your gold every time you get 100, and sell the dyes for 30 gp each.
*Combat sea monsters in port town to collect bolts.
*Go to the forest and fight the little bolt shooting imps for exploding bolts to sell.
*Go underwater and lets sea monsters spawn above you and collect the corprolite that falls down. Then turn the corprolite into rust bars at the blacksmith and sell them for 100 gp each, or gold for 800 gold each.
*Go to the volcano and collect dyes
*Beg badspot for 1k
*Go near the volcano, wait for Dynamite Droppers to spawn, and kill them for dynamite to sell. Dynamite is sold for 10-20 gp each stick.

It was really easy to get gold in v3 aot, because monsters would just repeatedly shoot foward, and never try to aim at a person. That way you could walk up to his back and slash him. You also started out with 2500 gold peices in v3 aot. Also, I know this bug..
-Be really near min tallness
-Have min chest
-Play on a singleplayer server the first time. (you can start and join servers in v3 aot)
-Log out
-Log back in
-You will be wearing and you will have absolutly nothing
