Randomguy's Cathedral(s) [WIP]

I've recently been working on a couple of cathedral style builds. I realize that many believe that cathedrals are way overdone, but this is my preferred style of building, and it works great with cathedrals/churches.

Anyway, here are the actual cathedrals:

The Washington Parish
This one is based off of a real church. I'm almost done with the exterior at the moment.








My own cathedral
This one still has quite a ways to go.







That's all for now. I'll occasionally post updates when I make noticeable progress. Feel free to rate x/10, considering that they're both WIPs. The second cathedral will most likely be an application to USSR when it's completed.

I'll just point this out, the cathedral that is not based off a reference is way over the top, which brings the look down. Notice how simple the referred cathedral is? Simplicity is often times, better.

Actually, I do see what he means. I've always had the feeling that I was building too intricately, and that second opinion has proven it for me. I will probably try to make it much simpler looking.

Either way I still like all the details. It's better than I can make and the like. (But, maybe I just think that because I'm always on the other end of the spectrum... Thinking I have too little detail in my works.)
