Author Topic: Map hollowed places problem  (Read 2007 times)

Bob

I have an unfinished interior that I made that has some hollowed places and only one of them work in Blockland. The other ones act as if they are hidden faces. You can still walk around but you can see through the walls(faces).

Anyone know why or have had this problem before?

before you turn it into a dif save it,close it then reload it,any problems should be visable,also click the detail button,it sounds like you have stuff touching each other

Where is the "detail" button?

This happens any time I use the hollow command.

The inside, of the hollowed object, is visible in Quark but once I export it to a dif and load it into Blockland, the inside is completely transparent but has collision still.

There is some collision happening I think, there should be a button that cuts any intersecting pieces and takes them away.
I don't know what it is in Quark though, only Hammer and Constructor.

The hollow brush makes it hollow without any collision so that shouldn't be the problem.

If it looks like this;

Then I guarantee to you there is collision happening, you simply may not know it.

What are these buttons called in Hammer and Constructor?

One of the CSG buttons found under the Modify category (Should be top left) in Torque Constructor.
Can't remember where it is in Hammer.

I haven't mapped for a year now if not more, they should be pretty easy to find though.
