We've had to wait this long, we can wait even longer. I would prefer to wait and have everything, then get it quick and not have all the other cool updates/fixes etc.

Ephi, could an add-on preference saver be feasible, such as the "default" and "minimal" buttons, but allow us to save and name our own in a list of some sort?

I believe that's what the groups are for.

Also, I prefer to wait till it's all done.

Also, I believe a "set default minigame" thing should be built-in.

That seems like more of a TDM feature.

It looks like RTB3 will be released as planned, with the full feature set.

I aim to have the new forums and online downloads system operational by the 1st of July at which point users will be invited to register and upload their add-ons to be ready for download/synchronisation when v3 is released. The RTB Listings forum on the Blockland Forums will also be made public at this time.

I'm currently working through the process of how to handle the switchover between version 2 of the add-ons database, and version 3. There will be more details on this nearer the time.

Hey, I do't know if this has been asked (I don't wanna look through 41 pages), but how about a thing where when you use the in-game RTB manager, when we download an add-on, it auto executes it so we don't have to reset the server to use it.

That would cause invalid packets for people on the server, and I don't think the particles would come out right. It'd be like execing something in game I believe.

Man that sucks, cause I downloaded the new JVS doors and had to reset my server and that was a pain.

It could work on changing the map, simply reconnect all the clients?

or you can change the map and not reconnect them

I mean changing the map/restarting the server ingame, to change add-ons. CLients see it as "loading map", it simply reconnects them.

now that, would be cool!

I don't really want to try any of that stuff, atleast not without extensive testing. Introducing datablocks to the game while hosting is just generally a bad idea and would probably cause packet issues/instability and all that jazz. Changing the server would still require you to reload bricks and everything. I can't remember if changing map requires you to reload datablocks either - I wouldn't think so though.

Furthermore if people could download to servers in-game they'd want to be able to disable/enable add-ons in-game too and that really is just opening a whole other can of worms.

I believe what he was saying is mostly restarting the server while keeping the clients.
