Yeah yeah I'm way behind some of you guys in math but I'm curious about this.

This was a bonus on my test.

x^x = 0.25

How could I solve this step by step, not doing guess + check?

I don't think 0.5 would work if it's x^x, which would mean that the exponent needs to be the same as the number itself.

That's 0.5². 0.5^0.5= approximately 0.71.

Looked it up: the function can't be expressed in elementary terms.

Basically it's not even possible.

Flyguy, I don't even know what Log is. The most complex stuff we do right now is more basic algebra: 3x + 2 > 2x + 5.
