Yeah yeah I'm way behind some of you guys in math but I'm curious about this.

This was a bonus on my test.

xx = 0.25

How could I solve this step by step, not doing guess + check?

Guess and check is all I can think of.

Working it backwards, maybe.

Yeah I already know it's 0.5 - wait no it's not

Guess and check is possible, but it would take time.
Use a calculator?

Also, maybe 0.25/xx?

I don't think 0.5 would work if it's xx, which would mean that the exponent needs to be the same as the number itself.

Haha I'm an idiot ignore this

That's 0.52. 0.50.5= approximately 0.71.

Where the hell did you guys get 0.5 from.
0.5^0.5 = 0.707106781

(0.0050.005) multiplied by 100 would equal 0.25...

couldent you do .25/.25

Looked it up: the function can't be expressed in elementary terms.

Basically it's not even possible.

Flyguy, I don't even know what Log is. The most complex stuff we do right now is more basic algebra: 3x + 2 > 2x + 5.
