I 'trail bike' at some times during the summer. These trails are very rocky and winding, and we usually ride about 2 miles up to a hill called "rock tank" and go back down.
Anyways, I was riding with my brother and we were both feeling confident. (My brother's 12 years older than me). We decided to take the hard way up to Rock Tank. It was easy, at first. We were just cruising down when we found the trail the lead to the dirt road (that leads up to rock tank). This trail was a bit more narrow, and more rocky than most trails. I'd say it's about a yard wide. This trail ramps down into a \_____/ shape, where you need to speed up in the deep part of the trail in order to make it up the ending slope. The only thing I didn't see was that in the middle of that lowered dip, there was a bit of a 'puddle' of sand which was about 3 feet long.
I was speeding down the slope when I hit the sand pit. This made me a bit unsteady, and as I came out, I hit a rock. This knocked me off my balance even more, but I decided to keep going, since my brother was speeding ahead of me. BAD IDEA. I lost all balance and my bike slid out from under me. I slid about 2 full yards ahead, all on my left side with my arm pointing forward.
I got up to see that my bike was on top of me. I have no idea how the hell the bike actually ended up on top of me, but I saw that 2 feet where I slid sad a streak of blood.
That elbow was a bitch to clean out and wash. I've got large scar where the skin was scraped off, and I'm pretty sure there's still some dirt in there. :/

TL;DR: I slid 2 yards in the sand and got the skin ripped off of my elbow while trail biking.
