Author Topic: How to port forward on a mac  (Read 1708 times)

None of my servers work and people tell me port forward but idk how on a mac

It's the router that matters, not your computer. Although the method of finding your IP is different.
Also wrong section.

Why don't you follow your own advice next time?
The tutorial you linked him to had PC specific instructions for getting the IP, which doesn't help him.

At least I tried instead of being a troll like you.

He's not a troll. Quit throwing around internet vocabulary that you don't even comprehend.

Also, port forwarding on a mac should be like port forwarding on windows. You could do a search on getting your IP on a mac, that might help.

He is a troll, posting random stuff and not knowing what he is saying.

How is what I posted random? It was completely relevant.
I do believe you are the one who doesn't know what your saying.

Fact: 62.5% of the posts on this topic are irrelevant

Anyways, I thinks it's possible using the Airport Admin Utility.

Location (Well for me at least): Applications-utilities- Airport Admin

You will only need to port foward if you connect to the internet through a router, (you're aren't plugged in to a phoneline) try the url address 192.168.1.1 in your web browser it is the default for linksys routers. the go to apps/gaming and enter the port info and your mac's LAN ip. if you don't know your mac's ip go to the status tab, local nework subsection, and open the DHCP clientss table. Find the name of your mac something like (bob's macbook) and put the ip next to it something like (192.168.1.104) back in the port fowarding place.

(That's the one you would enter into the ip field of your router when port forwarding)
