Author Topic: (Actual) Floating Brick Tutorial.  (Read 1609 times)

There's no actual use for this trick other than saving a few bricks (maybe killing some lag) so i ask that you bear with me on this one.
I for one found it handy.
(here goes)

Make a brick that is not flat

[ ]
[ ]   < awesome brick
[ ]

put stuff on top of it then save

[_____]
[ ]
[ ]
[ ]

delete all bricks and place a shorter brick in the place of a tall brick

-

Load bricks and original will not appear

[_____]

-

hammer the little brick and save.
BAM
actual floating crap.
saves bricks.
your welcome.
(by all means use the wrench first, you cant delete stuff on floating platforms... save often)

I have finally cast it into the forums with it's own topic...
Misuse and ignore away!

Why not just Wrench and untick collision, raycasting and rendering?

Quantum Bricks blow away your floating ones.

Why not just Wrench and untick collision, raycasting and rendering?

why not use actual photos ingame...?

This won't work very well because as soon as you hit the floating bricks with a hammer or wand the floating bricks will destroy themselves.

[Same thing if you load something in Slate from Bedroom for example, the bricks will be destroyed if you hit them with the hammer]

Better off using unticked collision, raycasting, and rendering.

Just uncheck all of the physics stuff or get Fooly's Multitool and /mm n or /mm p until Brick Eraser.

Hmm... i didn't think i had to quote myself for this one...

I fully realize the inefficiency of the method.
I just found it interesting, and thought other people would as well.

That is all.

He put this up due to all the suggestions and requests about floating bricks without bricks... if that makes sense :P
