Author Topic: Supervised Chat on left hand corner  (Read 4652 times)

My son loves this game and roblox.  However, I notice on this game that players can chat in the left hand corner of the screen. How is this monitored as my child is only seven?  Are there parental controls that can be activated, so that he can not read other members remarks.

no, there are no parental controls

please moderate the games your child plays yourself, and keep the cuss filter on

blockland's not a kids game, anyone can tell you that; it's a building game for anyone who wants to play

make your own filter please

Well, there is the cuss filter, which replaces any swear word with *'s, you can also make it so the chat is not readable at all by going to options, advanced and setting chat line time to 0.

Vertzer, thank you very much.  I was able to completely isolate all chat activity.  Exactly, what I needed for my little one. Thanks for taking the time to contribute to the post.

I was expecting a flood of noobs with some sarcastic comment. But hey, looks like the community worked together a little today. :D

good job, everyone.
except lu1g1
you're a moron

Isolating the chat will not all together keep your child innocent on blockland. There are ways to spell words out with bricks and you can build WHATEVER you want to, that would include genitalia and any form of object you would consider inappropriate. I would suggest that if your child wants to play with other people in a pure environment, you setup a LAN server in your house so your child can play with family members or friends, instead of online. I am just stating this so you know what is in blockland and who plays it.

Also try not to mention Roblox, most people here don't like Roblox.

like yuki and CopBlock

Aw you had to go a ruin the warm moment... D:

Though he has a point, if you see your kid in something like that, I'd suggest telling him to leave and go to another server. Though a little potty humor never hurt anyone, it's really up to the level of what you want your son to be a witness of. If you really don't want him around that stuff (and I don't blame you) then a LAN server or offline mode are two options he can use.

Oh shut up, we don't care if his kid plays Roblox, it's the people who come here and make an attack on Blockland saying that Roblox is better.

But you're mentioning it right now?

Is that like saying Candle Ja-

If your son is so young that you don't want him to see the chat, then he shouldn't be on the internet.

Well thats not true either, I had a lot of good memories of being a child on the internet.

Homestar Runner, Cartoon Network.com, hell I can even go back as far as PBS.org I played Clifford the Big Red Dog games.
