No, it sounds to me like they're complaining because there is a limit. Personally, I think the limit should be optional. Like, there could be a menu button "limit mover distance" in the admin menu, or something. Or, the admin could change player's rights so that certain people could build movers with no limits. I understand, and mostly agree, with the mover limit though. I don't think it's a bad idea, but I would like to see it as optional for those who know how to use it responsibly.
As for the problem they're complaining about, I think they're complaining because movers are slower than they were before, and they're now limited. So, they assume that 10 movers on screen at the same time will lag the server, and cause it to crash, because the movers can't move outside the view distance (most maps have a view distance of at least 500), and because they're moving so slowly that the server will have to render/communicate all that info. I think they're over reacting, and don't really know what they're talking about, personally. But for slow movers, I have to agree. With the old movers, I could create an elevator that could go through water (like on RTB Isles) because I could move it in like, 0 steps, to pass through the water. Now, I can't do that because when the player hits the water, they float, and leave the elevator, which continues down the to the bottom. With the current movers, if I have it at 0 steps, it will leave the player behind. It's not a big deal, if the admin is present, but the server where I'd use it the most is almost always devoid of the admin, so there's no one to create teleporters, or anything. In this case, it takes like, 2-3 minutes to swim to the bottom of the ocean, instead of using an elevator that would take you there instantly...
Oh well. I understand that movers have been completely rewritten so that they work better and are more effecient, but I do miss some of the functionality of the old ones. I do still agree to the limits on the movers though. Hopefully that sort of explains things a little better overall? Maybe? Mouser X over and out.
