Variable event's?

Im Mac.
I have a RPG server in blockland wich im working on.
And when i was on a awesome RPG server, the admin said that he was using the variable's event.
Then i went here and searched for a tutorial for how to use them.
But none came up.
So please here post a tutorial wich shows a litle about the variable event

I was on that server i was building working trees and i was making a test button wich gave you 150 wood when somebody followed me and kept pressing it.
I could teach you come to my freebuild.
