Why not get a Quad core? or are you on a budget?

Took the words out of my mouth.

I'll check how much they are, and I'm not really on a budget, but I'm trying not to make it too expensive, like $1500.

Umm..

Case is ugly as sin but that's just a personal thing.

Why Vista Ultimate? no real need for it. Get 64-bit OEM Vista. Save some money.

I would save the money from the speakers and instead get a 22" monitor, believe me, it makes a difference.

Processor and motherboard are decent choices too. You could probably fit a Q9300 in your budget.

I would change the VGA to an ATI 4850. Just as powerful but also leaves you the option to use Crossfire later. Cheaper too I believe.

Newegg is running really slow right now.

I noticed.  :cookieMonster:
I'm shooting for an nVidia, because of a brand bias I have, and nVidia Phyx, yes, I truely am odd.  I like the case, I think it's quite awesome, but also, that's a personal thing.  I'll check out the Vista 64 bit.  I'll go for the monitor, I have decent speakers now.

Believe me, all the cards I own are Nvidia products, but even I must admit that ATI is doing a great job right now. The 4850 is the way to go, especially with your P45 motherboard. Phyx means jack stuff right now. Few 'real' games use it, only tech demos mostly. ATI cards have this video encoder thing going for them and DX10.1.

If you are getting 4GB of memory then yes, get 64-bit Vista (not XP, driver support was horrible).

Alright, I'll check it out, I'll see if I want it.
I heard XP 64-bit was like that with drivers.

I have 64 bit Vista, works like a dream.

Motherboard gets Fudzilla's approval.

I'd look it up if I wasn't lazy, but how big is the case and how is the heat flow inside?

Wow, the ATI card is so much better.

And it will only get better when ATI releases new performance drivers in December for their 4800s. Since the 4870 is in direct competition with the GTX 260 and 280 you will vast differences in driver quality for the 4800 series over Nvidia's 9 series.
