Wouldent a ban from the entire game technically be illegal? I mean, if the person pays $20 for the game, then is restricted to play it, wouldent that be a form of stealing?

If someone is going around doing things that severely limit others ability to play the game that they payed $20 for, such as purposely crashing servers constantly, then deactivating the key is a perfectly reasonable solution.

Steam does it all the time.  They'll even ban you from multiple games for a single infraction.

Think of it like this: If you pay for a movie ticket and that gives you the right to see the movie, but it doesn't give you the right to stuff on the floor and punch people.  If you get kicked out of the theater, they don't give you a refund.
