Using Birthday Money and Christmas money,...this will be my first own computer that I have bought and built all by myself.
I feel proud of myself.
Cue people beating down my self-confidence.
First you need to figure out how to open the case. Next place your motherboard inside of it and screw it in. Make sure it is aligned with the holes before you start screwing it (lol). Make sure to screw it REALLY hard... err so it doesn't come out of place.
Second, this would be a really good time to insert power unit, CD and to make sure they're all plugged into the right slots.
Third, put all insertions into the mobo. Vidya Card, RAHM, and ET CETERUH.
Forth, plug in all your stuff. Keyboard, headset/speakers/mic, moose, monitor, power cables... OH AND make sure you plug in your mouse pad. Nothing will get done without that.
Now you can start her up. If it does not explode or cause meltdown of all nuclei inside the vicinity then you know that you have correctly (but still very sloppily) installed all the hardware required to start your computer!
OH forget WAIT. I FORGOT TO TELL YOU TO PUT IN THE HD. DON'T START IT YET. NO, DON'T! SHI--
Narrator: "In a desperate attempt to find the hard drive, the incomplete computer divided by zero in search for it. We still don't know what happened to Jsk or sonic_knx, but we can only hope for the best. This is Edward Herrmann and you're watching the PEPOLE WHO GOT BLOWD UP AND DEID special on The History Channel."
