Help - Building PC

For Christmas I will be building a PC, and my Dad gave me a budget of $2000. Im not good at this kind of stuff, so I decided to ask those of you who are to help me pick out parts :D
Im not sure what kind of info you guys will be needing, but I want it to be a gaming PC

get that 2k quad core extreme processor. Then stare at it and pretend it is in a computer and you are playing on said computer.

Yeah I get like $150- $200 tops $2000 is ridiculous.

Well a friend of mine just got a new gaming computer and it was really nice. But get an Nvidia or gigabyte motherboard get an Intel quad core, 700 watt power supply, get maybe at least 3GB of RAM A 500GB HD, and since your limit is so high I would say a 9800GX2 or two 9800GTX's. Then to top it all off for a case I would definitely say any antec case is worthy of my approval.

Are you rich? Cause $2000 is ridiculous. Try to save about $300 from the $2000 so you can buy a stuff load of games for the computer you get.
