Author Topic: Auto-update problem  (Read 4915 times)

After installing the version 15 client, it goes to update to 16.
EVERY TIME it stops downloading at 0.08 mb.

I've had this problem for a while. I've tried reinstalling many times. I've even been through another installation of Windows.

Am I missing something here?
Somebody please enlighten me.

Its might be a problems with your firewall. When you first allowed Ageoftime.exe to go through your firewall you only let that program with those engine mods to go through. But V16 might be different from v15, so after each update you should let you firewall allow Ageoftime to go through.

I have no software firewall activated right now.
My router's built-in NAT is the only firewall I have.

Run the external patcher. Its a batch file.

That's still not working for me. The batch just runs the program and starts the patch, but it still stops doing anything at 0.08 mb.

Maybe somebody could send me their 15 to 16 patch that it downloads. I have an incomplete one because once again, it stops at 0.08 mb. I'm not sure if it will work, but I think it should.

I can upload version 24 patch see if it works

Actually you would need all the patches from v16 to v24 if you were going to send all the patches to this guy. Just sending the v24 patch to this guy would mess up his game.

Thank you Badspot. :cookieMonster:
Solves my problem.

It's happening again. This time from 25 to 26. Stops at exactly 0.08 again.

This could sound kind of far out there, but I think it may have something do with the version number ending with a 6.
From 15 to 16 I had a problem.
From 25 to 26 I have a problem.

The evil number 6 conspiracy doesn't belong here so take your stupid theories some where else.

The whole 6 thing was a joke. Having a sense of humor on a forum is always a plus grim.

But none of that changes the fact that there is still a problem here.
I updated fine from 24 to 25. It's from 25 to 26 that I have the problem. Maybe there is something in common with the updates from 15 to 16 and 25 to 26.
I am running 64-bit. But I highly doubt that is what's making the difference.

the download mechanism is the same for all the patches.  If you have windows firewall or other network security software installed, you maye have to tell it to let ageOfTime.exe through after each patch, because the executable is changed.

That's the thing though, I have no software firewalls. And I can get my NAT out of the way by hooking my computer directly to the modem without the router, but I still get this. Whatever is causing all this trouble for me isn't a firewall.

Have someone send you the file for each update :P
