What has culture got to do with this?

Also, Ninja edit;

I don't need to sound Cultured, or anything else, I pay little attention to other people's opinions of me.

How are you compiling these c++es? You compiler certainly wasn't made with C++. Yes, they may not of been made with assembly code, but they could of been.

This makes no sense. My point was that your browser or OS wasn't made using C++ but they could of been made with C++ yet you couldn't make it with PHP.

Because typically you would say someone was cultured if they had read lots of literature?

Also, see this recent news article which pretty much sums it up, except replace impressing girls with impressing the internet: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/7776046.stm

I am unable to see how that point is even relevant to prior discussions?

Because why would PHP need to exist if there were no web browsers or OSs?

How can you possibly jump to the defense of a language over which you have no mastery whatsoever?  It's like you leech onto all these internet buzzwords like "C++" and "OpenGL" and any learned person that rightfully impugns your stubborn idiocy is a heretic.

Thats still totally irrelevant. Why would C++ need to exist if there were no computers? See. That adds no meat to this debate. I don't even recall saying PHP would exist without web browsers.

Because people are far too lazy to build their computers out of Meccano these days.

It's proving that PHP is inferior to C++. C++ is still useful to someone who doesn't use the web whereas PHP isn't.

PHP is web language, C++ is program language, it's like English and Arabic, they don't mix.

On a completely unrelated note, I love that game.

On a more related note, you can't really call a language inferior to another if they do completely different things.

It's proving that PHP is inferior to C++. C++ is still useful to someone who doesn't use the web whereas PHP isn't.

And you're just starting a whole new debate here? I'm figuring this is some pathetic attempt to 1-up me with a "my dad has a bigger car than your dad" thing here (where dads are programming languages or something...) besides as Trader said you can't really argue the case for a language you suck at (as you proved earlier in this thread) - i mean even I know more C++ than you and I haven't even bought a book on it (don't lie, you have)

Edit: oh stuff pickle all these people are totally calling you on your bullstuff! What asskissers!

besides as Trader said you can't really argue the case for a language you suck at (as you proved earlier in this thread)
Assembly sucks, nobody's good at it, because it sucks.

Assembly sucks, nobody's good at it, because it sucks.

Thank god your opinion is invalid in this discussion or we might have a serious logistical problem on our hands here!!

I mean even I know more C++ than you and I haven't even bought a book on it (don't lie, you have)

I doubt you do.
I haven't bought a C++ book, I am getting some for Christmas though.

Also, just because I got minor 1 thing wrong about a language doesn't mean I suck at it. I never claimed I was a master at it anyway. If I was a master at it why bother studying computer science?

The Human Rights Act 1998 (C. 42) - Section.12 (Freedom of expression) says otherwise.
A shame Ephi, I thought better of you than to tear away the validity of someone's opinion.

Even more:
Oh goodness, let me quote it directly.
Quote
Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers.

Also, fun fact:
Quote
Nothing in Articles 10, 11 and 14 shall be regarded as preventing the High Contracting Parties from imposing restrictions on the political activity of aliens.
