My character, Captain Von Trapp, is a true Austrian who got screwed over when the national socialists invaded Austria. Captain and his family were forced into performing at the festival, now run by the national socialists, who also controlled the rest of the country (obviously). The Captain is supposed to be drafted back into the naval forces of the Third Reich, but his friend helps him and his family escape over the Alps into Switzerland.
