Doxycycline is reportedly used in acne treatments, talk to a dermatologist about it if you're curious.  Try regular over-the-counter products though.  If you actually take steps to reduce/remove acne on your own at home (face creams, clean sheets twice a month, wash face when needed, etc.), you can find viable results.  You really don't want to get into prescription strength things unless you really do try standard level methods or if you have really REALLY severe acne (and I mean severe like your face looks the moon).
