holy stuff lol

how long did training for it take

10 months for classes. at least another 1-2 years of on-the-job training.

hes like an airforce technician, he doesnt even get to fly the planes iirc
the air force isn't like, full of pilots
I'm pretty sure less people fly planes than anything else

You say that like it's a bad thing. My job alone is a six figure job on the civilian side. Being a pilot isn't everything.

You got a problem with me defending my career? I think I've earned the right to be proud of it.

you should be. Whether people care if you're a pilot or not, getting into the airforce isn't easy nor should it be treated like it is.

I think the air force is like the easiest armed force to get into, probably excepting the coast guard and national guard and stuff
not saying anything's bad about the air force tho, it's my favorite branch

It's the hardest to get into. By far. I'm not saying that because I'm biased, but because I've seen the numbers. We're the smallest branch and we're overmanned. I see people kicked out left and right for small things just so they can reduce our numbers. Especially after this past fiscal year and a lot of our funding was cut. We also have the highest standards for acceptance (ASVAB, criminal record, background, tattoos, etc...). I worked as a recruiter for two weeks. The only people we could accept is Special Operations. Many friends of mine also tried to go in around the same time as me. I'm the only one that got in. Others had one or more problems that the Air Force doesn't accept.

Anyway, hell yes I'm proud. I've been through a lot in the past year. I'm also deploying to the middle east soon. I'm stoked.

navy and airforce require high school deploma+ to get in.

army will take any starfish who can stand up.

speaking of problems
I figure you would know this
so, if you have vision issues, and you have corrective surgery for it, do you still have any chance of being a fighter pilot

Fighter, no. Heavy, yes.

i wasnt saying it like it was bad...? he just sounded like he thought you were someone who would be carrying around guns and shooting people or something, was just trying to clear things up lol.

I have no idea. We don't operate many.

It's not a very adult thing to tell people, especially people who don't even have a career, how much money you make.

That's not how much money I make. It's what people that have been doing this for years on the civilian side make.
