Not sure about 3, but you could totally have a secret recording device in one, and I dunno, a memory card and some batteries in the other.  Pretty neat if they were all wired behind the jacket, or better yet inside.

I usually find something to put in them and they're very useful. Mostly it's like a comb, and outside of school my e-cig. Good for small things that I don't want falling out of my pants pockets.
