Instalites only release those chemicals during the time they have their black outer shells. You use a lighter to burn off the entire outer shell (use the tongs to hold it) and then put it on. What kind of handicap would put it on the hookah while it was still sparking like a firework?
Never tried coconut coals though, so I can't bash them. I don't own a hookah, so my hookah experience is limited to hookah bars and my friends' houses.
