I don't understand why suits have become representative of power and class.
At the end of the day, clothes are just supposed to keep us warm and give us decency. Unfortunately, everybody wants to be better than everybody else, so they treat every object in their possession like some item of status. "Oh I got the new iPhone 6.9! I'm so loving cool!" And because people are pack animals, they also love to be the same as the people around them, since they have a fear of being alone and isolated and put in danger.
I might be loving crazy and ridiculous for looking way too deep into this, but at the end of the day, I'd rather wear something that makes me happy both because it's comfortable and because I kinda like it, and feel like I'm making other people happy (whether it's because they're laughing at me or with me, I don't care), than just go with the rest of the crowd, blend in, not make too much noise and try get through life. That seems so very depressing and pointless. What's the point of living if you're just going to live the same life as everybody else?
tl;dr I wear it because I don't want to be part of the boring crowd I see in the big city every day
