Crossposting is posting the same topic in multiple forums. Like making a topic with the same contents about a game in both Games and Off Topic.Linking to another thread is not crossposting.
Tbh, the rule probably applies to not making a topic in section X, and then copying said topic into section Y; resulting into duplicate topics in different sections.
