The thing is, you didn't really have to specify "the black kid" as it was irrelevant to the story; you could have just said the kids. Wording is important because it came off as tribal when you felt the need to specify his skin color as if it were relevant to the story.
Also, tf $1,500??? They obv didn't give a stuff that it was your bike and didn't care if they took it. Should have went downstairs with a bat and forgeted they asses up. $1,500 covers loving 1/3 of next semester tuition forget that.
Well that's your opinion, sorry Jitank. I think it was pretty relevant, as it described the perpetrators of the act. Are you telling me that when reporting a crime -- the race of the person who committed a crime against you is irrelevant? Race, just like hair color, eye color, height, and weight are all characteristics of an individual. They help authorities identify a suspect.
Also I didn't think they'd actually unlock the bike. They seemed drunk from upstairs and it was hard to see (its a birds-eye view from my apartment, essentially). As soon as I got down to the lobby, I realized that only two of them were drunk and the other two were more than aware of what they were doing. Also at least I wasn't the one who bought the bike, my uncle did for my birthday last year.
Even if I did purchase it with my money, I wouldn't turn it into a physical altercation.
