Author Topic: Blockland not reading keyboard  (Read 1127 times)

I already reinstalled, and it didn't work, so do NOT suggest to.

Okay, so I got a new computer, and installed Blockland. I joined a server, and when I spawned, I couldn't type properly. Meaning I hit the "]" key and Blockland thinks I hit the "[" key. Also, it didn't read the ~ key to open the console as anything.

Those were just a few examples, but a lot of other keys are doing it too.

Any suggestions?

Maybe you need to get a new keyboard :O

That's all i would think of. Good luck ;)

Can't edit first post...
Anyway, the keyboard reads properly when I'm LOADING a server, but if I've spawned or am on the main menu and using a GUI (i.e. RTB's IRC), the keys seemed to be switched up.

Yay triple post. It's not creating a console.log either when I close it. (I tried to trace what BL was doing when I spawned, but it never made a console log...)

Is it a new type of laptop? Maybe it has some glitches that the company needs to fix. Does it have any problems with other things? You might want to hook up a keyboard to it. That is what I do with MY laptop. I got a different screen and a keyboard for it. Even a mouse. You might want to try that. :)

It's a Dell, brand new, Vista.
Keyboard itself isn't the problem. It works 100% on every program except Blockland.

Does it work in other Torque games?

Uh, honestly never played another. I'll go Google one.
And I searched the board before posting this, and it seems rkynick had/has the same problem, so I sent him a PM to see if he ever resolved it, and how he did so.

Can't find any Vista compatible ones >_>
Know any?

durr. How did I forget that.
I'll try it later.

They're always cigaretteging up laptop keyboards with non-standard button layouts so it's probably some new crap that breaks everything.  Make sure you don't have function lock or crap like that turned on.

Thanks, but uh, the on-screen keyboard doesn't work either.
