Author Topic: Good PSU Manufacturer  (Read 4558 times)

I plan to purchase a PSU for my birthday and I need to know a good manufacturer. As stated before, I dont know much about computers so I need you guys to name some :o

Power Supply Units are generally the same, except some supply more power than others. Other than that, it's not really like the Processor or anything, any brand will do kind-of-thing.

k
I just thought someone stated Rosewill wasn't a good PSU
So I was worried others wouldn't be

They all generally last a long time, but others will last longer, and have less chance of frying up. It depends on your budget.

Ignore Ethan, there are substantial differences in quality between powersupply manufacturers.

Stick to Corsair, Silverstone, or OCZ.

Avoid Rosewill.

Thermaltake

Aye, them too.

More Complete list of GOOD PSU manufacturers:

Corsair
Silverstone
Antec
OCZ
Thermaltake
COOLER MASTER
PC Power and Cooling

Like I said, some will last longer and have less chance of frying up if they are more expensive.

Your vagueness offered no actual help.

it really depends what your video card is, they the hogs.
my two cards alone use 450w each

and hard drives use alot to, if you got multiple ones, gotta add that stuff up

ever since multi-core processors, they haven't needed to be super power hungry to run well anymore

I plan on buying a 9800Gt. However i wasnt sure how much it and everything else together used. I probably dont need 600watts

Antec FTW!

1000w of pure enjoyment.

Either of those Silverstone PSU's should work, but I prefer Corsair because with most models you don't have any of that multi +12v rail crap to deal with. Supposedly the quality of the filtering is better too.
