Author Topic: Task priority.  (Read 1899 times)

If I go into control panel and set the task priority to high on a game that I'm playing, will that help framerates and visual performance a noticeable amount?

No, priority is typically assigned to the active window. There is no need to do it manually.

Playing fullscreen is a more effective way of ensuring that your hardware is dedicated to the game you are playing.

I've also heard that the 'Realtime' priority is the big red button that will begin to mess stuff up.

I've often wondered this myself.

i always wondered why people play big modern games in window mode.

wtf is up with that, all your memory is on the frikin desktop, and the resolution is rendered stuff.

I play every game except BL in full.

I'm very e-social while playing BL so it makes it easier to alt-tab everywhere.

I run blockland in windowed, so I can change windows easily. Everything else in full.

Yeah, same with me. I play it at 800 x 600 (lol) and I can't see my desktop with all of the xfire / steam / msn / and even AIM chatboxes.

Yeah, whenever I run Blockland full, and I alt tab back into the fullscreen game, it crashes.
