Author Topic: Brother playing makes server time out  (Read 868 times)

I've made a topic about this before but it still happens and I'm slightly sick of it.

If I am hosting and my brother does something on Blockland (not sure what causes it exactly... joining a server? Querying master server?), everyone in my server leaves. I get a bunch of "Client ____ timed out" in the console. My authentication still works fine.

I can't seem to get the server back up after he quits, either.

We run off the same wireless router, and we have different keys.

ask your brother what he did?

Wireless Router = Port forward

If you port forwarded it might your Internet, i have no idea.

This phrase makes very little sense.

ask your brother what he did?
We're not sure if he had joined a server when everyone in mine locked up.

Bump. Still don't know what causes this.

Happened again. I had a full server about to play soccer. SOMEONE HELP.

Are you using the same key on a lan or what?

Same router, separate keys.

Has your brother tried to also port forward his ports?

No. He's not starting a server, though; would that matter?

You could always just eliminate him, then say he must have gone 'missing'.

I was looking for a more serious approach.

Grumpy, if he hosts and I join a server, it locks up so that's not it

I was saying that because usually two computers in the same house, each can't forward their ports only 1

Does anyone at least have a clue what's causing this? Badspot?

Problem solved.

I set myself a static IP, and it suddenly worked.
