Author Topic: Monitor problems.  (Read 2416 times)

I'll be playing something, or my computer will just be idling while I'm typing or whatever. And all of a sudden my computer monitor screen will just go black, and then stay black for a little, and then go back to the screen I was on. Mind you before you say "The power is being interrupted", the monitor is still on, but the screen just goes black :(

This is a somewhat new monitor.

Is the plug that connects the monitor to the computer loose?

try hitting it with a hammer. Always works for me.

Nope. Their all in there perfect. I just checked just to make sure.

No. This monitor was expensive, I don't even know the warranty terms.

Fixed

Double post.

I wanted to see if it was just my graphics card so I put my other 8800GTX and that didn't fix it.

I can't really tell what's the problem.

The best bet you have is to contact Nvidia by email or submit a question thing.
:(

I called them and I talked to them. And I talked to Acer, they said they dont know. I think I'm going to get another monitor, see what happens.

IF anyone in your family has a computer, borrow their monitor for a bit and see if it happens

I think i know what is happening.  Then monitor might be turning off for a few seconds too cool off and such so the image doesnt get burned into the screen.  Try fiddling around in the monitor's menus.

No, the monitor is still powered on, the screen just flashes black and then the picture comes back. And, everybody else in my family has a laptop :(
