You may have deleted something vital to the computer.

How would i restore it.

You may have deleted something vital to the computer.

basically, you assraped your computer.

im pretty sure you can go into the recycle bin and right click and select "restore"

That's only if he was a friend who presses delete instead of shift+delete.

You idiots, deleting "important files" doesn't lower battery life, it just stops the computer from booting.

The issue is more likely that you reset or disabled the power saving features of the laptop (such as Intelli-step).

First step is to go to the Control Panel and to Power/Battery Settings. Play around with the settings and see what works for you.

Other things to consider:

Is there a disk in the drive? the drive uses a lot of power when it is in operation.
Have you been nice to your battery? be sure to fully discharge and recharge the battery each time.

I have probably forgotten some other stuff too.

Compaq laptop
There's your problem. Also, don't delete vital files.

Maybe your laptop isn't getting enough airflow.

Is the fan working?

A. It's overheating.
B. Needs more battery life. Don't game on battery power, otherwise it shortens the battery life from draining energy for the CPU and GPU and the game gets slowed down a lot.
C. It got forgeted up.

Maybe your laptop isn't getting enough airflow.

Fan gets loving loud as hell

I Have my computer plugged in at all times.

You might have a problem with your fan then.

With your laptop, do you actually play it on your lap or place it on a desk/table on top of something to allow proper airflow into the machine. Laptops are seriously flawed that way as the only place to put enough vent space is on the bottom where it's almost always going to be covered. Intelligent design my ass.
