Author Topic: Buffer Overrrun?  (Read 1463 times)

I try to start my Dedi, to run my City rp like always an it detects a buffer overrun now each time and has to close.  I would post my console log but its dated 11/30/08?  Gah help me please...  And if you are replying you don't need to quote me it gets annoying.

Also here is a n interested thing in the game console window i see before it crashes...
add-ons/peopemods_CityRP/Satic.cs Line: 441 - Syntax Error.

Could this be the problem? A friend of mine says its an error in the script that is crashing my dedi, is this that error?

Also WHY cant I edit my Posts?!

God dude, four bumps in an hour? Anyway try to re-install or delete CityRp.

thanks, but if im here and waiting, why not bump.

gah any other ideas? anyone? any known add-ons for causing this?

I just uninstalled some add-ons and it works, such as the mech's, firworks launcher, zelda sfx2, and truces new event mods.  like ifprojectile and ifitem in hand.

... 7/8 posts in your own thread are yours. Do not bump your own topic within an hour.

Buffer overrun means you have too many addons enabled/crappy addon.

...wow...wow tezuni...holy crap dude...i thought i was the anoying (probly still am) but...just wow....

Exactly. A buffer overun means the buffer in blockland (mostly when it loads the datablocks) is overrunning, which can be caused by to many add-ons. Just go to start a game, press the "add-ons" button and put some add-ons out. The problem is fixed when you have not to much add-ons on.

You don't need to completely uninstall them!

No thats not true, I went through testing and found it was the fireworks launcher causing the problems.  The number of add-ons does not contribute to buffer overrrun.  and for all the other above posters, I can bump my topic all I want.

A buffer overrun is caused by having one or more Add-Ons with broken code and syntax errors. Attempting to execute files like this multiple times (for me, any three broken ones) will cause a buffer overrun and close the game. Look in the console.log file when it happens for which file ran last (look at the bottom near "Syntax Error", it should say) and remove the related Add-On.
