What is your opinion about mod porting? Elaborate in a separate post if needed.

Yes. If someone submits a mod to the community, then the community has the right to update it to the latest version of Blockland.
No. This is entirely up to the author to do, and should be considered the author's property.
Yes, and I am a mod author.

Just curious as to what the population of Blockland thinks.
Don't let this influence you, but I would vote no.

In my opinion, no-one else than the author should be allowed to port his/her mods. Most of the people who port without permission won`t even bother to test their ported mod, which fills the Add-Ons and Maps section with Failbin material. TDM is a good example of this, it has been tried to be ported multiple times.

And what about the mods that deserve to stay unported? Most of the authors know if they should port their creation or not. Badspot should add a rule about this.

Porting mods should be a monopoly reserved for only the author of the mod, if somebody else ports it, then they need to be slapped.

If somebody knows how to port a mod and can do it properly, then I think they should be free to port it for their own server but not release it, to the public or anyone else.

I think that if the porter has permission from the author and can port decently, then it should be allowed.

I would vote "Yes, if the author grants permission to have it ported by the community." if it were an option.

you could get banned for quote pyramids
Have been before  :cookieMonster:
Also it's only three quotes, no harm done. When I got banned for it before it was like 8 quotes

I completely agree.

Its even worse when someone releases it and then refuses to give credit to the original author.

I don't think it should matter who made an add-on that doesn't work with blockland anymore. People who can port it should, if the author thinks they can port it better with less mistakes then they should do so and ask the other person to take theirs down.
