If you guys keep this up, he might be too scared to play since he might think that if he does sumthing wrong a giant hammer is going to come out of his screen and hit him or somthing, tell him the rules, but dont over due it. Example of what not to do:

Telling him to stay away from forums is just going to make things worse, if he doesnt visit forums, he wont be up-to-date on info and or new add-ons unless he has RTB, but let me guess your going to tell him to stay away from that to?
