Hard drive is 500gb
The ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 with 2Gb of GDDR5 Memory is said to be the fastest VPU that exists on the market.
4 Gigs of RAM
This isn't my final purchase, so I just chose a decenta random motherboard that has average price to see the price it will be.
Quad-Core I7 processor at 2.93 Gigahertz.

This summer baby.

It's just basically a major upgrade of my PC.

You're still missing a case, power supply, cd drive, etc.

Also, ew ATI. :(

But I know very little about computers. I just dislike ATI.

That motherboard isn't compatible with the CPU you chose.

You need a case, a powersupply, a disk drive, an operating system and preferably a good monitor too.

Get the I7 920, same as 940, but 1/2 price and can be overclocked much further.

Wait...why'd you choose the most expensive 4870x2?

OK, you forgeted the build up really bad. Want me to make a better list for you? (with components that are actually compatible)

lol owned.
Also, doesn't he need a fan or something. Or does that come with the motherboard or something.

As I said, when I actually make the purchase, my step-dad will help me make sure everythings compatable. If you read the last line, its just a re-gutting of my PC without buying new case, disk drive, power supply, etc.

Edited main post to clarify.

That i7 920, I will look at.

Haha, the CPU socket types aren't the same buddy.
Unfortunately there are no i7 CPUs for LGA 775.

You can get this though.
Core 2 Quad 3.0 GHz 12 MB L2 Cache, probably better but not sure.

Also, people, notice how he said "It's just basically a major upgrade of my PC." He's upgrading, he already has the necessities for a computer probably.
But you do need to make sure your PSU can handle all this.

If you want you can change the motherboard and go for the LGA 1366 CPU sockets and the i7.
Prepare for frustration, too. It WILL take time to get this all working, so be patient with building and getting it to work.

You still gotta make sure that your current case and power supply are big enough.

Read post above Nick. And vert, new news, I just read the watts on my power supply, and yes, I need to get a new one of those. # of watts for those parts?

700 or 1k?

By the summertime there will be a whole new selection of parts available and new pricing too. Wait until then to make decisions.

Well yes, 15 grand hundred could get me way different parts by then. Just seeing what I could do at this point, it made me pretty excited.

Woops lol

15 grand would be like...

10 TB 10000 Rpm HD
2 of those cards
8 gigs ram
Idk motherboard
I7 extreme.

Still, that would be like 2700

Also in your main post you said 500 MB hard drive :P
