honestly I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you buy yourself all these parts and have no idea how to put it together. Maybe buy a barebones case, it comes with the motherboard, power supply, cpu, and sometimes a graphics card already.

yeah i basically have no idea what goes to what on this thing, so a barebones case is something that i can upgrade later on?

It is the bare basics of what you need to run a computer, so in terms of building a computer, its what you start with. So its good for learning.

awesome, well i think thats probably what ill be going for then.
got any links to where i can find one?
or do i just google 'barebones computer'?

I used to have a barebone computer.
Was really small, and it's great if you just want to put it in your car's trunk and take it with you to LAN events or something.

It doesn't have to be small, I wouldn't go small if this is your first computer.

alright well that sounds pretty good if you ask me
and when it comes to actually upgrading it, how hard is it?
like say i want to add more memory to my computer, how hard would that be?
and what would be the hardest thing to do?

awesome, so what kinda parts should i get?

lol thats just the trick. if you dont already have a brand name fav for anything thats good.
and understanding what it means to be fast or slow by them stats. and what your willing to pay.

i would at least suggest a motherboard+processor combo. its good to buy them together for noob builders. start you out simple

I just found this, hot.

Not barebones though.

that is hot, and i think ill give the other option of buying my own parts a shot.
might as well learn it now then later

THIS WEBSITE IS AMAZING, YOU CAN GET GOOD COMPUTER FOR NICE AND CHEAP.

Srsly, I use this all the time for parts, and they've always come through. Good luck.

Prebuilts are only good if you're planning to put money into it.

Ignore Yeturn and his fear-mongering. Building a computer is as easy as building with LEGO bricks. All the parts come with manuals and there are very few tricky areas.

Here are my recommendations...

<Please wait while I get a list prepared>

Ok, the list is ready, what email do you want it sent to?

Don't get a western digital hard drive, they go out a lot faster than others. I like seagates.

...

Lies. Don't fall for brand wars friendry. Western Digital, Seagate, Samsung and Maxtor all make great HDD's.
