This has become a stupid fad at my school; everyone has a freaking Rubik's cube and will shove it in someone's face to be cool.

Dude, solving a rubix cube is simply memorizing a bunch of patterns and then looking for one. When you find one you try to remember the sequence of turns to complete it.
