Basically separates normal players from others in order to make them feel left out. This way, they can continue to make cool Gold only features that will only be used by 1-3 people instead of making things for the entire server populace.

Which is why you drive a nice large wedge in between the player base by giving some players SPECIAL PRIVILEGES

Yes, its very "even" when some players are getting 2x income and other benefits, while others have to deal with 1x income and no special features.
