Island Castle

I'm posting this as a WIP because I really don't want to permaban myself like I told people I would if I didn't have this done by the end of the month.  Sorry folks!  I'm a liar.

Anywho this build was inspired by the city of Venice, Mount St. Michel, and several old gothic churches in the Oxfordshire area.  I'm up to 15k bricks now and I'm about halfway done, or maybe a little less.  I've got more or less full interiors, most of which aren't furnished yet.

I'm working on the back of the build by the dock area right now (as you can probably tell by the screenshots) which I'm thinking I can finish in a few days.  Once I get the entire base done I can start expanding upward; eventually I want for the build to be slightly surreal, and for it to be much taller than it is now.  Hopefully I'll have the patience and skill to do justice to the work.





This is a shot of the back-end which is woefully incomplete.  Still, I find it interesting to see other builders' processes, and I hope you do as well.  The bright red bricks are basically placeholders until I can actually support those parts of the build.

I like how, in that last picture, the bridge and the roof-top off to the right form, what looks like, 3/4ths of a Cathedral Rose window frame.  You really hit the mark with your map choice here since seeing this castle jutting up out of the water with nothing around for miles is about as surreal as you can get.  My only negative criticism is that I think the lions should go. They're an interesting idea, but Blockland doesn't support building techniques that would make them work visually they distract from the coolness of the architecture that surrounds them.

yeah I feel that with the lions; something does need to go there, though, and I'm just struggling as to what to replace them with.  Thanks for the constructive feedback though seriously, it's much better than just typing "AWESOME" and clicking post.

And yeah I was serving this for a while but I am a rambling man and I can't serve from this locale unfortunately so to show this off I'll need someone to help me out.

My comment disappeared with the portion that went to Drama, so...

I really like this, seeing it in-game is even better, one of the few things I'm iffy about is those lions, they seem to somewhat stand out, but you've said earlier how they are subject to change.

Overall, really nice build, all the colors seem to compliment each other, can't wait to see it when it's finished.

EDIT: Randomguy was right, that yellow tower does seem to stand out a bit.
