So, I tried to move my notepad application to my desktop, and as luck would have it, when I  move it, the entire application moves to the desktop, it's no longer in my accesories page on my start menu. Can anyone tell me how to get it back into my start menu?

Have you tried dragging the File(s) to the spot needed through the start menu?

He wants to know what that spot is. If he doesn't know that you have to put the file somewhere, well...

When I have the start menu open, the moment I touch the desktop, the start menu closes.

Like you are dragging an item to a new folder, drag the item(s) to the start menu [ you may have to wait for it to pop up] Drag it to the all programs thing, apps , ect.

I love you.

Logic says that if you can drag an item off of the start menu, you can drag it back in.
