Author Topic: Castle Construction Set (Read 4990 times)

Pandan invited me over to his server for a Medieval City build a while back and, while I was there, I created some pretty nifty Castle wall segments that could be duplicated to create an almost unlimited number of castle wall configurations using a 16x16 stud grid as a base. It was so nifty that I wanted to share it with the rest of the world, but what I had at the time was, well, kinda crappy and it felt incomplete. So I started building. After a few hours here's what I came up with:

The Save can be found by following the link below. Make sure to read the Readme.txt file if you don't know how to properly save .bls files!

@Bushido: That must have been before my time. I was inspired by the AFOL* made LEGO Moonbase project when I went modular.

I've always loved things like this. I tried to do it with trackmania-esque track pieces, but it didn't work out.

Devastator and I have been building together like this lately. Our modules aren't as big as yours though. I like the idea of castle walls like this, I might give it a shot with my own modules. Great idea.

They look great, but are they practical? I'm alot about practicality instead of ONLY good building structure. For instance how well would this hold up against a zombie attack that can destroy bricks? Not very well more that likely. Also, IRL (I know it isn't real life, but still) those houses on top of the wall would be an easy target for a fire arrow.

I made a castle back in V8. The wall was kinda plain because I had made it like 2 months after I started playing, but the zombies very rarely got inside.There were two castle wall 'levels' 2 stories each (able to walk inside) In btween the two defense levels there are a few pheasant houses and inside the inner wall is the castle complete with garden and (shallow) moat. 50k bricks over all. xP

Looks great! I think that you should make the yellow roofs a bit more subtle in color, they look a bit out of place.
