500s are like RW said cheaper, cooler and require less power.
600s are kinda the same but a little more power, an extra 20 probably and the same size usually but only do a little better.
800s are big ones, they require power depending on the card, usually $150 or higher and they are big. They do great.
The GTX 200 series is the bad boys right now.

Is that DVI? What if you don't have a DVI compatible monitor?

All the decent manufacturers supply DVI-VGA adapters with the cards. Higher end models come with DVI-D --->HDMI adapters.

I got a GTX 260 as well, amazing card. On-topic rawrman it should work you just need a new PSU or power supply. And the bigger the card the more power it needs. Like an Antec 650 watt trio would not even push it for my GTX 260 and I am sick of constantly updating PSU's so I just bought a 950 watt.
