Author Topic: Protip! Removing brick textures.  (Read 3119 times)

I've found that if you remove the brick textures, builds will look a lot different. There have been two (so far) stud replacements, and I took this a step further and just moved (renaming also works, just get it back to it's original name for the textures to work again) brickBOTTOMLOOP, brickRAMP, brickTOP, and brickBOTTOMEDGE from C:\Blockland\base\data\shapes.

Anway, it produces this nice visual effect, or lack thereof I guess.

To get it back, restore the files from the garbage bin or re-download BL if you deleted the files, move them back if you moved them, or change the names back to brickBOTTOMLOOP (the generic underside texture) brickRAMP (ramp) brickTOP (top) and brickBOTTOMEDGE (the edge of the underside of a brick.

Interesting very.

But I prefer my blockstuds :)

Wow I had no idea you could do this, and Ive defidently never done it before. Good work.

Protip:

Ever been in a dark DM?
Replace all of the brick images with a pure white one.
Your enemies stick out way too easily.

Did this a looong time ago. Anyways its nice, but the only problem is that it gets kind of annoying if you remove the side textures and try to build...

Yeah, I've found that for best results you should leave the side texture in.

its cool i guess, if no one is building anymore, and you got some kind of minigame.

but blockland is about the blocks :D you need all the silly lines

I'm going to try this and backup the brick stud texture, that way I can switch back whenever I want. :D
